Healthfirst SMC Sr Process Consultant in Hartford, Connecticut

The Senior Process Consultant supports the ongoing development of Platform capabilities and integration for payor and provider collaboration within the healthcare industry.

The Sr. Process Consultant independently develops user stories to support epics and features, performs process and data flow design, performs data mapping, creates functional system design, develops system test plans and performs system testing while applying moderate independent discretion and judgement. The Sr. Process Consultant facilitates and contributes in client management and/or technical discussions, develops and delivers presentations and clearly communicates issues to SMC Leadership. The Sr. Process Consultant assists Product Owners in developing work plans, teaching and supervising less experienced SMC staff. The Sr. Process Consultant takes the lead on initiatives, in meetings, training, etc. in the absence of a Product Owner.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Recognized expert at performing process design, creating user stories, mapping data and functional system design.

  • Performs data mapping of source data to FHIR standard in support of interoperability

  • Performs integration design involving event-based streaming services in support of real-time data integration with payers and providers

  • Works collaboratively as part of an agile product management team with technical, business and design team members.

  • Provide clients various business solutions to transform and support their operations

  • Develop sprint roadmaps and works in JIRA or Version1 in sprints

  • Develop and support delivery of system test plans and perform system testing

  • Facilitate or actively participate in client management and/or team discussions

  • Develop and deliver high impact, effective presentations

  • Identify and understand project issues and help lead a team/effort to implement a solution

  • Leverage experience to recommend innovative, unobvious and creative solutions for improvement

  • Deliver top quality, on budget work, with exceptional client satisfaction

  • Provide on-the-job training and mentoring, and development to SMC team members

  • Communicate with client and SMC employees at all levels or the organization

  • Maintain trusted client relationships

  • Takes the lead in the absence of a Product Owner

  • Assist Process Specialists and Consultants through training, coaching and function as first-level of support

  • Additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience

  • 2-5 years’ experience with data mapping, system design and analysis

  • Demonstrated ability to remain organized, prioritize work, remain self-motivated and meet project deadlines with minimal supervision

  • Experience preparing and delivering information to multiple types of audiences

  • Empathetic listener, effective in interpersonal communications

  • Rigorous attention to detail, demonstrated ability to write clear, concise communications and documentation demonstrating proper grammar, correct spelling and punctuation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working independently and as part of a team

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; working knowledge of Visio or other diagramming/design software

  • Ability to work in a matrix-management environment

  • Customer focused, results oriented, self-starter with excellent teaming abilities

  • Some knowledge of SQL

  • Healthcare experience
