Healthfirst Team Lead, Business Analytics in Lake Mary, Florida


The Team Lead (TL) Business Analyst is responsible for business process review and data analysis as relates to activities which ensure operational effectiveness. She/he will assist Management by working directly with Business Analysts, analyzing data, identifying useful information, recommending and supporting decision making with a focus on departmental improvement. The TL Business Analyst will be responsible for taking a leadership role in major projects and providing guidance to other BAs within the department. She/he will also work closely with Project Owners, Information Systems (IS), Product Managers and other internal staff to aid in the implementation and maintenance of new products and processes through being a resource of knowledge and expertise of Medical Management systems.

The TL Business Analyst owns project goals by developing project plans, establishing deadlines, monitoring milestone completion, providing timely reporting of issues that impact progress and resolving conflicts. This includes documenting and prioritizing assignments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all current activities and projects assigned to direct reports and works closely with the Management team and Leaders across Enterprise

  • Report and present findings based on data analysis and other project assignments

  • Identify defects and improve departmental performance by supporting quality, operation efficiency and production goals

  • Communicate departmentally and interdepartmentally to recommend and request new concepts and/or modifications to existing workflow, system set up, tools and designs

  • Analyze and implement improvement opportunities for the department (automation, productivity, quality, deficiencies, etc)

  • Work with limited supervision to make recommendations and appropriate decisions while informing and seeking management advice when necessary

  • Review technical specifications to ensure business requirements are adequately reflected in technical planning documents.

  • Recommend changes to address deficiencies and/or further improve and streamline performance based on analysis findings.

  • Assist with achieving the appropriate level of quality by working with the IS Department in resolving important defects and ensuring the appropriate level of testing.

  • Provide resource planning and resolution of issues that impede the test effort.

  • Conduct testing and accurately document to meet timelines as needed for assigned projects.

  • Point person and mentor for Business Analysts.

  • Ensure individuals and the team meets or exceed performance goals.

  • Hold staff one-on-one and monthly team meetings.

  • Monitor and manage staff member performance.

  • Coaches and directs team in solving problems and provides support with difficult situations .

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience

  • People leadership experience in supervisor or project lead capacity

  • Experience communicating with cross-functional employees within an organization.

  • Conflict Resolution Experience

  • Experience handling complex situations and/or projects

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook.

  • Experience in creating and running complex queries using SAS, SQL or other programs (i.e. Visual Basic coding, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Alteryx, Tableau, Amazon Redshift, or other similar tools/platforms

  • Experience with applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.

  • Advanced knowledge of theory and practice related to Informatics operations and workflow process

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Ability and willingness to handle increasing workload and responsibility

  • Ability to solve problems under time pressure, with frequent interruptions.

  • Work experience in Healthcare Analytics

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and work with independence and initiative

  • Research and analytical experience in examining problems and participation in implementing innovative solutions.

  • Capability of multi-tasking including strong organizational and time management skills

  • Willingness and ability to learn and evaluate new information, both technical and procedural, and to disseminate both verbally and in writing

  • Experience with in-depth manipulation of data to assist with root-causing, trending and summarization of projects presented to various level audiences.

  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience identifying defects and improving departmental performance by supporting quality, operational efficiency and defined business requirements.

  • Experience managing projects across multiple departments.
