Healthfirst Analyst Community Partnership – External Affairs in New York, New York


The Healthfirst External Affairs Department supports membership growth and retention efforts, and functions to build trust in the Healthfirst brand throughout communities we serve. This is achieved through the creation of culturally relevant programming that is firmly aligned with Healthfirst’s growth strategy and executed with the support of key internal and community organizations. The Analyst Community Partnership (ACP) assists in the design, development, execution and evaluation of EA’s portfolio of nearly 60 midsize events for Healthfirst, with the objective of supporting Healthfirst’s enrollment and brand recognition goals. The ACP accomplishes this through close collaboration with Product, Sales, and Marketing; analysis of socioeconomic, competitive, and Healthfirst P&L data; event project management; and adherence to established processes, and protocols. The ACP assists in laying the foundation of which creative, effective and sustainable programming is expertly enabled.

The ACP also assists with identifying trusted partners (community organization and vendors) and suitable venues for future event programming and collaborations.

The ACP leverages his/her knowledge of developments in consumer and community engagement, local socioeconomic trends, and the latest innovations in event management to support short term and long term planning.

The ACP assists with the management of the employee volunteer program, including promotion, onboarding and training.


  • Assist in planning, reviewing, evaluating, and adaptation of event programming

  • Attend meetings with internal partners (e.g., Sales, Product and Marketing) regularly for information, direction and insights

  • Support event and programming life cycle management in an effort to keep the portfolio attractive and results-driven

  • Collect and analyze Healthfirst, competitive, socioeconomic and other relevant data to identify trends and recommend new engagement opportunities

  • Use reliable project management tools and methods to plan for events and projects

  • Support event surveys and other event insights gathering efforts

  • Support fulfillment of employee volunteer resources for all events

  • Attend community events to gain first-hand socioeconomic insights and to network

  • Assist in creation and maintenance of templates for reporting, processes and protocols

  • Assist in preparing strategic and tactical EA plans based on company and department goals

  • Maintain socioeconomic and competitive data and community information about Healthfirst’s service area

  • Maintain contacts data base with health influencers and event partners (i.e., provider groups, community-based organizations, local universities, government agencies, local retailers, small businesses, elected officials, etc.) to support inroads in target markets

  • Be knowledgeable of Healthfirst product portfolio and their related eligibility requirements

  • Support evaluation of new partners


  • Experience in building community partnerships

  • Experience in event planning or fundraising

  • Experience in working in a health-related field

  • An energetic and consultative work style

  • Interpersonal and critical thinking skills

  • A start-up, entrepreneurial mind set

  • Minimum Associates degree or equivalent college credits

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office software: Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook a must

Highly Preferred Qualifications

  • BA in marketing, communications or a related field

  • Experience in negotiating

  • Experience in a sales organization

  • Experience in community engagement creating and managing programs with measurable outcomes or event planning role


This position requires some local travel.

Working Weekends and Holidays

This position may require working weekends occasionally.
