Healthfirst Analyst/Trainer, Health Information Exchange in New York, New York


The Health Information Exchange (HIE) Analyst/Trainer will support the ongoing implementation of the Healthfirst HIE initiative. This position is responsible for the underlying analysis required for evaluation of initial provider connections, additional downstream connections, on-going support and maintenance, management and execution of test scenarios and test cases. The Analyst will work in tandem with the HIE Project Manager, Information Systems Business Analysts, Quality Assurance Analysts and Clinical Quality staff to ensure new implementations and updates to the Exchange are implemented on time and defect free.

  • Supports the implementation of the HIE with our provider partners.

  • Provides training to internal and external end users.

  • Analyzes incoming data streams and works in conjunction with technical staff to map and validate new or existing connections {i.e. Admission, Discharge and Transfers Notifications (ADT), Visit and Result data} using appropriate analytics tools (e.g. Healthshare, SQL, Excel, Access).

  • Provides analytics with regard to provider integration to ensure new data is properly consumed.

  • Maintains documentation repository for analytical reports, provider implementation materials and strategies for use by and for multiple audiences including Healthfirst Senior Management and internal departments.

  • Create and manage a library of test cases consistent with organizational protocols and tools related to testing new implementations as well as regression testing of existing feature sets.

  • Maintain provider relationships by supporting connected hospital implementation teams to field questions and concerns.

  • Creates routine internal performance reports to effectively communicate status, risk, and return to all stakeholders.

  • Additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

-Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.

-Demonstrated experience working with and knowledge of Health Information Exchanges or Electronic Medical Record systems.

-Understanding and working knowledge of clinical data aggregation.

-Understanding of basic database structures, tables and querying functions.

-Experience creating pivot tables and using Microsoft Excel functions, including formulas.

-Experience creating and editing documents in Microsoft Word.

-Work experience creating and editing presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.

-Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle, test case development, testing and validation.

-Experience leading cross functional teams for the purpose of solving problems or resolving issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Experience with Intersystem’s Healthshare application.

-Experience with Healthcare interface design and implementation (HL7, CDA).

-Understanding of the various project management methods (Waterfall, Agile, etc.).

-Experience creating and editing workflows using Microsoft Visio.
