Healthfirst Financial Data Analyst in New York, New York
The primarily role of the Financial Data Analyst will be to manage the data exchange process with our sponsor hospitals. The incumbent will work with the Information Technology team to generate these files in the beginning of every month and maintain a thorough validation ensuring the data integrity before releasing the files to the hospitals and IPAs.
Responsibilities shall include managing the data warehouse integration process to load GL entries into Workday. This task will require the ability to create datasets in SAS/SQL and convert them into XML format. Additionally, the incumbent will be required to manage the data that is currently flowing through the Claims Utilization Trends System (CUTS) application through which we share data internally at Healthfirst and externally with our sponsor hospitals. Lastly, they shall be responsible for member level data integrity ensuring every member is correctly tagged with their appropriate premium group and also the correct premiums
Work with the EMR (Excess Medical Revenue) and GL teams to ensure that all of the approved entries are loaded into the General Ledger.
Maintain the GL integration process for both financial journals and statistics
Conduct GL/EMR data reconciliation.
Manage user access to CUTS
Validate and approve the data flowing through CUTS
Run monthly data extracts, validate them and then release them to the sponsor hospitals through SFTP locations
Work with IT team to add any additional fields to the claims, pharmacy and membership files as requested by sponsor hospitals and IPAs.
Additional duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Math, Statistics or Computer Science degree from an accredited institution.
Experience creating, maintaining and running complex queries using SAS/SQL.
Work experience with data analytics in a Healthcare environment (such as a managed care organization, commercial health insurance plans, hospital, etc.).
Work experience with larger volumes of date in Excel utilizing advanced functions such as VLookups, Pivot Tables, formulas and model building.
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, including technical staff, internal nontechnical staff, testing teams, and business stakeholders.
Ability to effectively and efficiently work in an environment of high level performance.
Ability to challenge the status quo and drive lean implementation.
Ability to quickly develop an understanding of systems and technology.
